Amarré

About us

Next slide

Sleek designs, glamorous spirit, precise cuts, premium materials. Amarré embodies timelessness, characteristic of Made in France while seamlessly integrating Malagasy culture and craftsmanship.

Our story

Founded in Paris in May 2023, Amarré embodies the fusion of French chic and glamour with Malagasy craftsmanship. The brand was born out of a passion for swimwear, an idea that took root nine years earlier, in 2014.

It was during a trip to Madagascar, thanks to the discovery of the ancient art of crochet, that the story began – first with the creation of crochet swimwear, then with the crafting of beach accessories such as raffia bags and hats, all designed to reflect the authenticity of local craftsmanship.

The designs are conceived in the brand’s Parisian offices before taking shape in Madagascar and Paris, under the skilled hands of our crochet artisans.

Our commitments

Our workshops are dedicated to community development and environmental responsibility – values we hold dear.

One of our workshops in Madagascar, in collaboration with the AVM Association, actively engages in providing free training in crochet, sewing, and embroidery. This initiative has positively impacted 650 young girls, divorced and widowed women in various districts, achieving a remarkable 100% success rate. Moreover, we take pride in highlighting that over 80% of our artisan team is comprised of women.

Each woman in our team plays a crucial role in the creative process, holding key positions such as quality manager, workshop leader, crocheter, and association president. By promoting diversity in roles and skills, we affirm our commitment to female empowerment, believing that their influence and leadership are essential for a strong and balanced community.

On the environmental front, our workshop has implemented a wastewater recycling system, producing liquid fertilizer used in our vegetable plantations.

Continuing our commitment to improvement, we support our workshops by introducing innovative solutions to streamline the crafting process, aiming to make artisans’ work more efficient. The creation of a handmade bag, for instance, may take anywhere from 3 to 6 days. Our objective is to enhance their work by simplifying this meticulous process.
